Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What are Fish Tank bottles made of?

Our bottles are made with a double layer of food grade 18/8 stainless steel. During the manufacturing process a vacuum is produced between these two layers, which gives them their thermal properties. The lid is made with BPA plastic so that it is not toxic.

How can I clean and care for my bottle?

Before using it for the first time we recommend you wash your bottle with warm soapy water. Though scratches and dents add personality to your bottle and prove how many adventures you've been on, please follow these instructions to preserve its finish and thermal properties:

  • Avoid pushing your bottle into your bag where it could scrape or rub against other objects.
  • Never wash any part of the bottle with bleach or other  aggressive chemicals. Warm soapy water or diluted vinegar with thorough rinsing is the way to go.
  • Do not wash your bottle or lid in a dishwasher.
  • Never put your bottle in the microwave.
  • Never freeze or heat your bottle. Use cold or hot liquids to begin with and let your Fish Tank bottle do its job!
  • Pressure can build up inside with hot drinks or changes in altitude. Always open your bottle gently to avoid splashes and scalding.
